Executive Summary/Description of the software
The "e-Map" software project aims to develop a comprehensive staff database for CSIR-NEERI and CSIR, aligning employee expertise with R&D objectives. It optimizes talent allocation, fosters collaboration, and strategically matches employees with projects. Key features include user authentication, expertise mapping, scoring mechanism, admin panel, and data collection forms. The software facilitates efficient management of expertise and R&D prospects, enhancing organizational agility and impactful research ecosystems.
Salient Technical features
Dashboard: Users are greeted with a dashboard upon login, allowing easy navigation through project titles and dynamically displaying corresponding expertise and scientists. Expertise Mapping: Relevant expertise for selected projects is showcased, along with a list of scientists possessing that expertise, aiding in project planning and team formation. Scoring Mechanism: Utilizes a scoring system based on various factors to evaluate a scientist's expertise, visually represented through progress bars for quick assessment. Admin Panel: Administrators can manage project details, add or delete projects, and handle data via Excel sheets, streamlining data management processes. Data Collection Form: Scientists can input their details and expertise, along with project-related information, through a user-friendly form with a preview option for verification before submission. Data is securely stored for further analysis and utilization.
Problem being addressed/Application
The software streamlines project management and expertise mapping in research and development (R&D) settings. It efficiently manages projects, identifies relevant expertise, evaluates scientists' capabilities, and supports data-driven decision-making. Ultimately, it enhances collaboration and contributes to the success of R&D initiatives.
